General Maintenance Operator needed for assembly of corn husking beds and relevant equipment. Must have mechanical ability and be safety minded. Key characteristics are the ability to listen, follow directions and communicate. Candidate must have reliable attendance and transportation. General maintenance or agriculture experience helpful but not required.

Shift and Schedule details - Generally, this role is a 6:00 am - 2:30 pm / 40/hr week assignment. During busy seasons, workers may need to work a second or third shift for a period of time, generally for a few weeks and with notice. During harvest, workers may also be required to work longer days and/or weekends due to weather conditions and business needs.

What You’ll Do:

• Ensure all work meets Corteva safety standards through consistent practices
• Support plant operations through corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance activities.
• Maintain the condition of the plant shop and maintenance tools
• Assist and complete grounds and facility maintenance as needed
• Assist in maintaining detailed equipment records
• Working with Operations to ensure maintenance activities are completed without interrupting production
• Other duties as assigned

What Skills You Need:

• Holds a valid US driver's license
• Possess basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn, understand, and apply mechanical concepts
• Demonstrates problem solving, teamwork and communication skills
• Knowledge of production agriculture and production plant operations helpful
• Ability to safely perform duties in timely fashion while maintaining seed quality
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Ability to adjust to changing conditions and anticipate needs
• Ability to make independent decisions
• Have reliable transportation to the site and be able to arrive at the work site as instructed
• Maintain enthusiasm, good attitude, honesty and a willingness to treat all with respect
• Ability to communicate verbally and written
• Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60 pounds, work in and outdoors, walk on uneven surfaces
• Always maintains safety standards and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary.
